I just love, love, love my new Fivesse gym bag. Not only does it have compartments for all of my gym items, including ear buds, ipod, water bottle and workout dirty clothes, but it takes me from the gym, to work, or wherever my crazy day takes me. They have truly thought of everything. Plus, the attachable garment bag is so cool. Wrinkled clothes are not sexy!

This morning I awoke to the buzz of my iPhone. A dear friend wanted to share Gweneth Paltrow’s latest blog post, and more importantly, an article on conscious uncoupling. In only the way spirit provides, coincidentally, (or not so coincidentally), I recently had the most interesting conversation with the article’s co-author, Dr Habib Sadeghi. As noted in both the article, and in my The Shift with And & Skip radio show interview, Dr Sadeghi is a very wise man.

We are constantly battling stress and toxins in our life. Short of living in a bubble we will never be able to avoid them completely. So until our bubble-homes are built here are some simple tips to begin to detox your body, and get it back into balance.
Baja Sal Cut the salt – Many foods are already high in salt, no need to add any more.
Suave Con el Alcohol Cut back on (or nix) the alcohol and caffeinated drinks (such as coffee, tea and soda). – These can all dehydrate the body.
De Colores Eat at least one colorful meal a day. You’re busy, and on the go. Make sure that at least one meal a day is super colorful, and nutrient-dense.
¡Muévete! Move it! – Not only will moving your body help you flush out toxins, stimulate endorphins and boost your energy, as Joseph Pilates said “Movement heals”.
Are you struggling to shed the holiday (or any) weight, and get your body back into balance? Well then, it’s time to let ME help YOU!
What have you got to lose? Oh yes, that’s right…The 5, 10, 20, or more pounds that have been dragging down. Your lack of energy. Your overall malaise.

A few months back I was asked by Latina magazine to share 5 simple ways to incorporate more fitness into a daily routine. Here’s what I shared:
1. ¡Horario, Baby! Schedule it! Give your workouts (and your health) as much importance as your other life events. (They’re probably even more important, in the scheme of things, because if you’re not healthy you’re of no good to anyone else, either.) Only YOU can set aside time for you. So set some time aside and exercise!
2. ¡Disfrútate! Have fun! Make it fun by joining a friend. Instead of cocktails take a walk together. Women thrive in a community.
3. ¡Camina, Chica! Walk, Girl! Park father from your destination and walk (to work, the mall, etc).
4. ¡Sube! Take the stairs, (or park farther from your destination), whenever possible.
5. ¡Pon to smartphone a trabajar! Make your smartphone work for you! Join an online workout program that you can access from any device, including your smartphone. Learn more about my new online program here!
