If You Just Believe…(so much)

Submitted by on November 26, 2013 - 11:02 pm

Most of you know that I’m the mother of the sweetest boy in the world, Vincent. Not only is he sweet, but sometimes he amazes me with his deep thoughts. I mean seriously, Tony Robbins move over!

The other day he mentioned that he wanted a particular set of Legos. I told him that we’d have to check what age they were for, as some Legos are for older children. Vincent, as ambitious as he is, told me that it didn’t matter if they were for big kids, “you just have to believe in yourself”. I was taken aback and asked him to repeat himself. He expanded on the thought, providing me with an example of the power of self-belief. And because I thought you might get a kick out of this, (and also because I kind of couldn’t believe my ears), I recorded it for you. Here is what Vincent has to say about the power of belief in oneself…

Oh and by the way, please share your deep thoughts (comment below) on his philosophy. You may end up being the lucky winner of one of three pairs of Bella socks from Toesox.

Believe is powerful. Can make anything happen if you just believe.

    Yes, Sven.

All you need to do is believe. Well, that’s not all that you need to do, but it certainly helps. Without belief your ideas are only dreams. With true belief and faith they are possibilities, and often become reality.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Wow! I love Vincent’s “can do” attitude! Quite a profound belief for a little one–out of the mouth of babes! Another true testament that we learn from our children as much as they learn from us. Well said, Vincent!

We should all take your wee boy’s advice if only we believe in ourselves and have the faith we can do so much in every area of our lives thanks for sharing

Yes, children are so wise, and I believe that Vincent is wise beyond his 5 years.

Uplifting! I shared Vincent’s words of wisdom with my boys, ages 12 and 13. My older son is always down on himself, suffering some insecurities after they were abandoned at 2 and 4 by their ibirth family. Vincent’s message was particularly special for him. Both boys were amazed and tickled.

Thank.you for sharing, Ana. We hope you are able to find a heart full of peace with life as it is.

I am proud to be the grandmother of dear Vincent, and his cousin Kai. Both boys are not only smart and clever but loving and caring as well. All Children are gems of inestimable value and it is up to the adults to help them release their potential.
