Meet Chloe

Chloe updated us today about the changes she’s made so far:

She writes,

“I have put away the ice cream! …….. and instead am choosing:

  • wild blueberries(frozen-TJoe’s) and
  • fresh strawberries,
  • treating myself and buying papaya which I love,
  • remembering to put bananas and red grapes in the freezer,
  • putting a few frozen strawberries w/ some nonfat milk in the blender, with a packet of stevia
  • making a protein shake w/ berries, and vanilla (egg white or whey) protein powder(Jay Robb) he uses stevia—–depending on if its a snack or a meal replacement I use either 1 scoop or a 1/2 of a scoop——-also if I want more volume I put in 3-4  ice cubes

All of my substitutions are working for today….I need to remember to keep changing it up so I don’t get bored with what I am eating and want a hot fudge sundae!”

I say.. good job Chloe! You’re not alone. It’s tough to fight the temptation but once you do, it’s a piece of cake (not literally!)

Tip of the Week

How Much Sugar is Healthy?

According to the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, it's recommended no more than 8 teaspoons/day of added sugar based on a 2,000 calories/day diet. That’s 32 grams if you’re reading labels, and about 6% of your total calories for the day.
That means:
* 32 total grams / 4 grams per teaspoon = < 8 teaspoons added sugar/day
* 1 teaspoon sugar = 1 sugar cube = 1 sugar packet
