10 Slimming Tips

Holidays making you soft around the middle? Check out my 10 “Go to” Slimming Tips for the holidays, or anytime!

Tip #1

In order to stay motivated, set a realistic and measurable goal. In other words, map out how much weight you want to lose, or what size you would like to fit into, and most importantly by what date.

Tip #2

Eat a breakfast, daily. You wouldn’t drive your car on empty. Why run on empty yourself? A quick, tummy and healthy option is a slice of brown rice toast with sunflower butter, or raw unsalted almond butter.

Tip #3

Schedule your workouts. Make an appointment with YOU! You’re worth it! Come on, you can squeeze out 30 minutes from your day, to care for your body, mind & spirit. You probably spend more than that on FB. Hmm. Priorities, folks! Make a simple workout calendar. Who doesn’t like crossing off an accomplishment? Nothing wrong with cute little check boxes, either.

Tip #4

Tip #5

Hydrate, Baby! A super-simple way to slim down is to cut out the sugary (and nutrient deficient) drinks. Make water your friend. Not only will you fill-up your tummy, you’ll also jump start your digestion and improve your complexion. (All good things, in my book.)

Tip #6

Wrap it up, Baby! Just because you cooked it, doesn’t mean that you have to eat it all at once. Serve yourself and store the rest. Tomorrow is another day.

Tip #7

Eat all the time! (Well, not exactly). Eat every 3-4 hours, so that you’re never dragging & to avoid the junk food cravings that love to creep in around the 3 o’clock hour.

Tip#8

Have food, will travel. Make sure to pack healthy snacks when hitting the road, or the air. There is nothing healthy about packaged foods. You can do better than that!

Tip#9

Go ad-free! When watching the tube, tablet or phone, skip the commercials. High-cal food images actually stimulate the brain’s appetite control center. Yikes!

Tip#10

Floss and brush right after dinner, so that you’re not tempted to eat again. I mean, who wants to rinse and repeat that one?

30 in 30 Challenge!

Ok amigas, my “30 in 30” Challenge is BACK!  Most of you now that last December 1st I committed to doing some sort of exercise each day, for 30 days.  I called it my “30 in 30 Challenge“.  My hope was to start the new year off in great shape, (i.e. without putting on any holiday weight) and feeling great.  Well, the Challenge went great.  People from all over the world joined me,  followed my progress online and shared their progress with me.  It was awesome!  (You know, if you joined me or at least followed along).

Fast forward 7 months and my “30 in 30″Challenge is back.  On August 12th, 2011 I’m hosting a HUGE party in downtown L.A.  My goal?  To look fabulous in my custom-made dress.  (Yes, I am having a dress MADE for this party.  Stay tuned for more on the dress in the near future).  Anyway, I want to look great in my new dress, and as the host of this slammin’ party.  So, I decided to do the Challenge, again.  That being said, I’d like to invite YOU to join ME beginning Monday, July 11th (or whenever you read this).

The good news?  I’m not planning on (nor asking you to) run 10 miles a day.  On the contrary, I just plan on doing SOMETHING each day. Sure, on somedays I will jog on others I may just do some Pilates, Yoga, or squats and lunges.  The goal?  To move my body, look and feel great!
