Maravilloso Monday- Move that body!

“The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not.”
I spent yesterday at the American Diabetes Association’s Feria de Salud (Health Fair) on Olvera street, in the heart of downtown L.A. Hundreds of people gathered to learn about bettering their health, whether they have diabetes, or not. It was a great event. I had the opportunity to demonstrate Pilates exercises and talk about the benefits of PIlates for the diabetic. (My brother has been an insulin (Type 1) diabetic since he was 13 year old. So this cause holds a very special place in my heart). Although these individuals know what they need to do to be healthy, and control (or even prevent) their diabetes theylike the rest of us, needed a little reminder. I was surprised to hear how many people at the event suffer from back and neck aches, on a daily basis. As Joseph Pilates said’ “movement heals”. The theme that I saw throughout the day was that people are not moving their bodies enough.
So get up, move that body, eat what’s good for you, (even if it’s not your favorite thing)! You are sure to feel better.
