I hope that you’ll forgive a little self promotion. This week I thought that I’d feature my Pilates Body Sculpting Kit.     Although it’s a few weeks since I won and received the Gaiam Body Sculpting Kit in one of Ana’s Tenacion Thursday Competitions, I always meant to give some feedback on how I’d got along with this addition to my Pilates workout.

    I decided to complete the workout three times before passing judgement and am glad I did. Having used Ana’s DVDs for the last three years or so, I think I took for granted my familiarity with the workouts and the degree of fluidity I’ve gained. As I’ve come to appreciate, Pilates is as challenging as you make it. You can cut corners, but I have always found that the greatest satisfaction, pleasure and results are found in aiming to achieve the perfect combination of the movements, breathing and control and it’s here where the ball is most effective. It almost forces you back to basics in ironing out bad habits, allowing you to reassess and appreciate the purpose and benefits of the exercises in the new context of stabilising the ball.

    While the movements in this DVD will be familiar to anyone who has tried Ana’s workouts before, adding the extra factor of the ball allows you to further concetrate your efforts and is perfect for anyone looking for further variety in their Pilates workout.
